DEFINITION: Defining random variables

The DEFINITION: block is used to define models for random variables which represent observations.

The observations can be:

  • Continuous observations with a residual error.

  • Non-continuous observations: count, categorical or time-to-event.

In Monolix, only non-continuous observation models are defined in the structural model file, while the continuous error models are defined in the interface and saved automatically in the Monolix project.
